Brinker International Honors Supplier Partner of the Year for Continued Commitment to Excellence
08/20/2012 – DALLAS (PRNewswire) – Brinker International, Inc. (NYSE: EAT), awarded Detroit-based Wolverine
Packing Company the 2012 Brinker Supplier Partner of the Year Award, the highest honor a Brinker supplier partner can receive. Wolverine supported Brinker with innovative ideas and supply chain solutions to deliver improved menu items to guests at Chili's® Grill & Bar restaurants nationwide.
The Supplier Partner of the Year award recognizes outstanding Brinker supplier partners who support the company's initiatives and offer innovative business solutions, ultimately benefiting Brinker's guests and team members.
Last year, Chili's recognized an opportunity for growth in the steak category. Wolverine Packing Company continues to provide quality and consistent steak products, while minimizing cost impact to Brinker. Wolverine introduced an improved line of sirloin steaks to the Chili's menu; today the brand sells three times more steaks than before.
"Wolverine's willingness to identify and execute steak specifications we could use system-wide has been an invaluable resource, and Brinker is pleased to recognize them with this prestigious honor," said David Parsley, senior vice president of supply chain management for Brinker International. "Our priority is supporting our restaurant operators so they can make our guests feel special, and the dedication of outstanding supplier partners like Wolverine helps make that possible."
