Homestyle Dining Announce First New Ponderosa Steakhouse Franchise As Part Of MinorityFRAN
08/02/2013 – Texas-based Ponderosa Franchising Company, a subsidiary of Homestyle Dining LLC, and its President and CEO Thomas A. Sacco announced their first new franchise agreement to qualify under their International Franchise Association Minority Franchise Initiative, known as MinorityFRAN. The agreement was signed with Heather L. Hopkins, owner of HLT Foods, LLC. She plans to open a Ponderosa Steakhouse restaurant in the Fayette Town Center Shopping Plaza in Fayetteville, West Virginia by the end of 2013.
MinorityFRAN was launched in 2006 as part of the mission of the International Franchise Association (IFA) Educational Foundation's Diversity Institute. The goal is to increase the number and success of minorities in franchising, including franchisors, franchisees, suppliers, and employees.
“We are pleased to enter into this new relationship with Heather who shares our vision of continuing the growth of Ponderosa Steakhouse restaurants,” stated Sacco. “Heather is a successful businesswoman in West Virginia and we are proud to have her become our first franchisee under the MinorityFRAN initiative that we launched in April 2013 in partnership with the IFA.”
“I am pleased to become a part of the Fayetteville community. I look forward to bringing a new look, new vision, Ponderosa Steakhouse quality dining experience to the families and travelers throughout the central West Virginia area,” stated Ms. Hopkins.
There are currently over 200 Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses currently operating in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Taiwan, and, opening late 2013, Egypt.
