Sizzling Donuts to Open 16 New Dunkin’ Donuts in Salt Lake City
10/19/2012 – Canton, Mass. (Restaurant News Release) – Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, announced today the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with existing franchisee Sizzling Donuts, LLC for 16 new restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah. The first restaurant is planned to open in 2013 and the remainder by 2018.
In February 2012, Sizzling Platter, LLC formed the subsidiary Sizzling Donuts, LLC and signed their first multi-unit agreement with Dunkin’ Donuts to develop 11 new restaurants in Denver, Colorado, and eight new restaurants in El Paso, Texas, over the next several years.
“We are excited to expand Dunkin’ Donuts’ presence in Salt Lake City and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here,” said Mitchell Lowe, Sizzling Platter’s General Counsel and vice president of development. “We have a passion and loyalty for the brand and look forward to the opening of our Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the years to come.”
Franchise opportunities are still available in Northern Utah and Reno, Nevada. To drive its expansion efforts, Dunkin’ Donuts has aligned its strategy to support the growth opportunities and consumer needs of individual markets. As a result, the company continues to expand with single and multi-unit opportunities with no minimum unit requirements.
“‘America runs on Dunkin’, and we are excited to be part of the expansion westward with the Dunkin’ Donuts brand,” said Ted Morton, President/CEO of Sizzling Platter. “We believe Dunkin’ Donuts is a perfect fit for the Salt Lake community.”
Building a solid network of stores within a market enables Dunkin’ Donuts to invest in a distribution model that provides consistent, high-quality products that guests expect. In an effort to keep the brand fresh and competitive, Dunkin’ Donuts offers flexible concepts for any real estate format including free-standing restaurants, end caps, in-line sites, gas and convenience, travel plazas, universities, as well as other retail environments.
“Our secret to success is our passionate franchisees who provide a high-level of customer service to our guests every day,” said Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of development, Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. “We’re proud to be expanding west in Salt Lake City with Sizzling Platter, an existing Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. We believe that they will cultivate lasting customer relationships and become an integral part of the local community.”
