Bacardi Limited Appoints New Regional President for Latin America

07/05/2012 – Hamilton, Bermuda – Bacardi Limited, the largest privately held spirits company in the world, todayPhoto Gianpaolo Perego announced the appointment of Gianpaolo (Paolo) Perego as Regional President of Latin America, with responsibility for leading all operations in the region for the portfolio of internationally recognized premium spirits. His role with require managing the implementation of the overall strategy of the Latin American region, as well as the general management of several businesses in nineteen countries.   As Regional President, Perego is also a member of the leadership team of Bacardi. The appointment will be effective from July 9, 2012.

Perego was most recently Chief Operating Officer of Campari North America. He began his career twenty-two years with the Campari Group and has since held numerous administrative functions in the areas of marketing.  He has extensive experience in commercial operations and strategies in developing markets, and will bring the spirits company insights into the fast-growing markets of South America, Europe, Caribbean, Central America and the Middle East.

Perego will be based at Bacardi Americas in Coral Gables, Florida. He will succeed Rich Andrews, who was recently appointed executive director of operations of Bacardi in the UK and Ireland and a member of the leadership team in Europe.
