Baristas Signs Publicist Richard Lewis to Be SVP of Corporate Communications
12/16/2011 - SEATTLE (PRNewswire) - Baristas Coffee Company, Inc. (OTCPK:BCCI) announced today that they have signed Richard Lewis, a senior public relations executive, who directed the successful publicity launch of the television series "Baywatch," and guided the media campaign that helped the Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment "WWE" become the number one sports entertainment company in the world, to manage the company's consumer and trade public relations initiatives.
Mr. Lewis will assume the position of Senior Vice President and will report to the company's CEO, Barry Henthorn.
"Baristas is really a unique concept that will resonate tremendously with the media. The consumer press will love the concept of pretty girls in provocative costume serving coffee and the trade and business media will cleave to the amazing expansion story unfolding in such a short time. I have no doubt that this will be a national media phenomenon in a very short time," said Mr. Lewis.
Mr. Lewis is a former vice president of public relations for Hanna-Barbera, DIC Entertainment and LBS Communications. He also served as the senior vice president of marketing and public relations for the WWE and was the senior vice president of business development for DQ Entertainment.
Mr. Lewis also operated his own consulting firm representing Tony Robbins, Peter Max, HSN Direct, MCA/Universal, ABC, AMC Online, Nick Online, Baywatch and Family Feud. As an executive at Rogers & Cowan and Mahoney/Wasserman he represented the Hilton Hotels, Steve Wozniak, Ford Motors, Jockey International, Nolan Bushnell and Alex Spanos.
"I have had a working relationship with Richard Lewis since the early 2000s and in that time he has been instrumental in getting a front page story in the business section of the New York Times along with stories in all of the major trade publications for companies I have been directly involved with. He has always been tenacious in his approach to the media and his efforts result in reams of coverage. I know he will exceed his own best at Baristas," said Henthorn.
