Hormel Foods Promotes Luis Marconi to VP of Grocery Products Marketing
02/22/2012 – Austin, Minn – Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE: HRL) today announced the promotion of Luis G. Marconi, Managing Director of MegaMex Foods to Vice President of Grocery Products Marketing at the Hormel Foods Corporate Office effective March 5, 2012.
“Luis is a proven, effective business leader and a strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset,” said James M. Splinter, Group Vice President of Grocery Products at Hormel Foods. “We look forward to Luis’ contributions to our continued Grocery Products success.”
Marconi began his career with Hormel Foods in 2000 as the manager of international sales and marketing in the international division. He advanced in 2006 to a senior role in the Grocery Products division as manager of international joint ventures. In 2009, when the MegaMex Foods joint venture was formed with Herdez Del Fuerte, S.A. de C.V., Marconi was appointed managing director by the Board of Managers.
Before joining Hormel, Marconi held a number of positions with increasing responsibilities at Quaker Oats. Marconi holds an MBA, Strategic Marketing from Icesi Universidad and a BS, Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
