Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida Appoints Marty Durkin as VP–Marketing & Sales Planning
08/23/2012 –MIAMI (Business Wire) – Steve Power, Executive Vice President–General Manager, Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida (SWS-FL)—a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America (Southern), Inc., the country’s leading wine and spirits distributor—today announced that he has appointed Marty Durkin to the role of Vice President–Marketing & Sales Planning for SWS-FL. Durkin will succeed Art Friedman who will run the recently-restructured SWS-FL Retail Chain Division.
Commenting on the appointment, Power said, “Marty is a proven leader with a successful track record. Durkin brings to his new role 19 years of industry experience. He began his career at Barton Brands as a Regional Manager, joined Pernod Ricard in 2001 and was promoted to Vice President of Southeast Division, managing 10 States. In 2009, Durkin joined Southern as Vice President–Sales and Marketing, managing Pernod’s national business for all Southern markets.
